Makes 4 Large Naans (from the book ‘Bosh!‘)
Ingredients for Bread:
- 1 x 7g dried yeast
- 220ml warm water
- 2 tbl sugar
- 6 tbl plant based milk
- 2 tsp salt
- 400g strong white bread flour or wholemeal flour (or a mix)
Method:
- Put yeast and warm water into a bowl, stir and leave for 10-15 mins until frothy
- Add all other bread ingredients, tip out on a floured surface and knead for 10 mins or use a mixer with a dough hook.
- Put dough back in a lightly greased bowl and let it rise for 60-90 mins in a warm spot until doubled in size
- Knock out the air by punching it for a couple of mins.
- Using lots of flour to prevent sticking roll the dough out into 4 even pieces.
- Put a little oil in a flat pan and fry on medium heat for around 5 mins turning halfway.
While the dough is resting you can make the garlic topping!
Topping:
- 60ml olive oil
- 5 garlic cloves
- Pinch of salt
- Dried parsley, dried coriander or fresh coriander
Method:
- Take all these ingredients, put in a small saucepan and heat gently for a few mins.
- Take it off the heat and let it cool
- When the naans have cooked brush the naans with the garlic oil mixture on both sides. I then like to sprinkle some dried parsley or coriander on them and serve!
