Resources

Below is a list of resources that I have found useful since embarking on the ‘V train.’ I have grouped them into different categories to make it a little easier to navigate!

Recipes (Websites)

  • Nora Cooks Vegan– This site was recommended to me by a full-time vegan friend and it has not disappointed! The recipes I have tried so far are SPOT ON.
  • Minimalist Baker– What I love about this site is that she uses minimal ingredients. I love her coconut yoghurt recipe and cinnamon scrolls.
  • The Vegan 8– These are seriously healthy recipes with no added oil and often gluten-free. Perfect if you’re looking out for your waistline!
  • Bosh!– These boys sure know how to come up with some delicious alternatives to the classic grub that you’ve grown up with! Better yet, they have loads of videos to watch. It’s the perfect food porn…

Recipes (Books)

  • Bosh Cookbooks- They have a few books that I love! I use Bosh and Bish Bash Bosh because they both have some fantastic recipes. Their recipes are comforting and utterly delicious! Some of them can be more faffy than others and have quite a long list of ingredients but I find that once you invest in the right spices etc you’re good to go! 👍Great if you want vegan alternatives to the food you love such as curry, chilli, lasagne etc.
  • Thug Kitchen: Eat like you give a f*ck- This book is utterly hilarious. Mostly because it is full of swearing! I can’t read a recipe without dissolving into fits of giggles as it all seems so naughty. But apart from that, there are some kick-ass recipes in there. It’s American so the measurements follow the US system but nothing that uncle google won’t fix! Plus, they make up for it by being nice and simple with their ingredients. Nothing too fancy here!

Podcasts

  • Nutrition Rounds with Dr Danielle Belardo– This is fantastic if you really want to learn more about the benefits of a plant-based diet through documented scientific research. Occasionally the medical terminology can go over my head but I have learnt SO MUCH!
  • Nutrition Facts with Michael Greger– This is perfect if you want simplified bite-sized pieces of information regarding plant-based nutrition. The episodes are super short so super easy to listen to!
